Today was my birthday and it was a wonderful day.

On Wednesday last week my hard drive crashed and that same day our county-wide wireless ISP kind of went crazy. Without a computer, everything pretty much stopped for us these past seven days. I’ve read 15 Readers Digests from the 1960’s and learned about Nikita Khrushchev, the wonders of stereo and new noiseless air conditioners, how wrong socks may threaten your child’s foot health, preparing party spamwich loaf — lovely to look at and luscious to eat, and how that new Freudian psychology is going to destroy America. I also turned the compost pile eight times this week.

But today Nathaniel installed the new hard drive and the internet seems to be working. If you’ve sent me an email I may not have received it and book orders will be a few days late. I received two bunches of roses, one high-tech pair of tweezers, a fancy hiking backpack (they gave up on getting me to ski and are now working on hiking), a gift certificate to my favorite store — J.Jill, lots of candy and lotions, a special meal of chicken Florentine soup in a bread bowl, spinach salad, and chocolate cookies. And Johannah and Adam surprised me with a visit. I am happy.

Happy Birthday!!! Sounds like your day was fun!!

And, look at all you learned during the time your computer was down!! 🙂 Just think, if you had read the recipe for the party spamwich loaf-lovely to look at and luscious to eat-a little earlier, you could have had the recipe perfected in time to serve at Johannah and Adam’s reception!!

I missed your posts while your computer was down…glad to see you back up! 🙂

Note: Looking forward to seeing the video (and your side comments) on you and your children hiking!

    A belated Happy Birthday!

It sounds like you took advantage of the loss of your computer to relax and refresh yourself. Good for you!

Well, with all my respect and based upon your clue, I think you are 56 years of age. But ‎based in how you look, I think you are much younger.‎

    Bye, bye
