Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.
Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.
And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go

Beautiful poem and beautiful picture! I taught my son his first poem this week (well, he is working on it. I almost didn’t do it because I didn’t think he would take to it (being choppy, not his typical subject matter, etc.), but I’m so glad we did it because he took to it right away! I only read it to him once and had him repeat back to me each line, and later in the morning I heard him saying it to himself while we were doing chores. I’m sure we will be doing more poems =) I love how you matched a poem with a picture! Thank you for linking up again at Trivium Tuesdays!
