We took a few photos of my daughter Sarah just outside the village of Iriba here on the edge of the Sahara Desert in Chad. This is one of the tanks that have been abandoned, likely due to lack of fuel, during one of the military advances against the government during the war-torn past, stretching from the late 1960’s to the early 1990’s. It is a Russian tank, probably contributed by Libya, our neighbor to the north. –Sharon
