The seeded Concord grapes
One day’s picking
My favorite flower, probably
The maroon sunflowers
The yellow, buttery dahlia
The red and white dahlia
Today I must abandon the Principle of Non-Aggression as applied to gardening. I have tried all summer, but finding two snakes in my dahlia bed is too much to ask.
Unusual creature following me around in the garden, flying close to my face. Not a hummingbird. What is she?
The unusual creature is a “hummingbird moth” or hummingbird clearwing moth. I’m no expert, but I was blessed a few years ago with a close encounter with one of these beautiful creatures in our impatiens.
White -lined sphinx moth, we also have been seeing a lot of these lately. Identified just this morning!
That is a hummingbird moth!
