As you can imagine, the decision to leave my blog has been difficult. All the posts, comments, and emails I have received have been so supportive. It’s humbling to know that starting from literally nothing two years ago, Spunky Homeschool has grown that much. I owe quite a bit of that to you all. Your support has been tremendous over the last two years. I enjoy blogging and writing, but I know that this is what God has called me to do. And disobedience is not an option when hearing the voice of the Lord.
But as providence would have it (God’s timing is perfect), I’ve been nominated for the Wizbang Blog Awards 2006 in the educational category. Many consider this to be the “Oscars” of the blogosphere. The two top contenders are both very liberal educators who believe that it’s just a two blog race. The competitor in me would love to come out of “retirement” after just announcing it three days ago. That’s not going to happen. But if you all wouldn’t mind voting in this and allowing homeschooling to shine in the darkness of education, I would be very appreciative. This isn’t a “win” for Spunky Homeschool but for all homeschoolers. Spunky Homeschool is the only homeschool blog listed among the finalists in this category.
Thanks for your time and consideration. I won’t pester you with emails, I just wanted to give homeschooling a chance to shine.
Should you choose to vote, you can do so here. You are allowed to vote once each day until December 15. Here’s the link.

Many Blessings to your family,
P.S. Feel free to forward this on to whoever you may like to vote as well.
Thank you Laurie!

…the important thing is that IvyGate and I crush the homeschoolers.

I’m sure it was said, in good fun. But knowing that a homeschoolers can make the Ivy league squirm a little could be quite fun to watch. Thanks for helping to give them a run for their money.
